Which dedicated servers can I choose in Chicago?
Available builds are Intel Core i5-12600K, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Intel Core i9-13900K, Intel Core i9-14900K. Compare their fit for your games and supporting services above. Ask us to confirm included memory and storage for an i5 build.
How is bare metal different from Game VPS?
With bare metal, a complete physical server is reserved for your games. You manage the OS and software; VYKIX owns and maintains the hardware and network. Game VPS supplies root access to an allocated virtual CPU, memory and storage. Match the choice to your setup's resource and isolation needs.
Which operating systems are offered?
Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and Windows Server 2022 Standard Evaluation are available. A Windows production licence is excluded. Send us any requirements for custom ISOs, reinstalls or remote-console access so we can confirm what is available.
Which builds offer a Pterodactyl installation?
A paid Linux Pterodactyl installation is available in Chicago on AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, Intel Core i9-14900K. Selected Linux games are supported; DayZ is excluded.
Is the 10 Gigabit uplink included?
The standard uplink is 1 Gigabit. The 10 Gigabit upgrade carries an extra charge and setup fee. You can select 1 to 4 IPv4 addresses, with additional addresses charged extra.
Who manages the VxShield firewall rules?
VxShield rules for the server's protected IP addresses are your responsibility. Ports start closed. Add allow rules for the SSH, RDP, game, query, RCON and custom application ports you use, then match them in the operating-system firewall.
How do I size a dedicated server for my players?
Size CPU, memory and storage for your game build, map, entities, plugins and other processes. Test the intended setup under a busy session. Each VYKIX build is overclocked, liquid-cooled and burn-tested for 72 hours before handover. The workload you run determines playable capacity.
When will my dedicated server be ready?
Each server is assembled and tested by VYKIX before handover. Stock and build choice affect timing. Share your launch date before ordering so we can confirm a deployment schedule.
