Choose your mission ZIP.

Keep the ZIP intact: no extraction or upload is needed, and your original file stays unchanged on your device.

Select the intact ZIP containing one mission with both files. The editor locates the mission folder.

Every preview uses your original mission values as its starting point. Pick a blueprint or set your own multipliers.

Quick start

Server blueprint

A blueprint combines settings for loot categories, tiers, locations, events, infected and wildlife. Customize it using the multipliers.

Mission multipliers

1×

Reset to clear the blueprint's category, tier and location overrides.

1×

Adjusts live population values in env/zombie_territories.xml by the multiplier.

1×

Applies the multiplier to animal territory files while preserving zero-value behaviour zones.

1×

Changing this value replaces the blueprint's event-group overrides with 1 global factor.

Preview your changes

Check the preview for your current settings. Your edited-files ZIP includes changed supported configs and VYKIX-CHANGES.json.

DayZ XML workflow

Try it with a sample mission.

Start with the sample before opening your own mission. The example doubles enabled loot values in types.xml while keeping the other systems at 1×.

  1. Load the sample ZIP. Download the sample above, then select it with Choose Mission ZIP.
  2. Select Reset to 1×. This clears blueprint overrides so the example uses one global loot multiplier.
  3. Set Global loot base to 2×. Select Preview Changes with infected, wildlife and event multipliers left at 1×.
  4. Check the edited files. The download should contain db/types.xml and VYKIX-CHANGES.json. It is a changes ZIP, not a complete mission.

Entries set to zero remain disabled. The sample shows XML values rather than how many items a live map has spawned.

Tested with official mission XML

Chernarus, Livonia and Sakhal.

We ran a 1× reset and a 2× loot edit against Bohemia's mission files on 30 September 2026. The checks preserve disabled entries, other item fields and files outside types.xml, then reimport the edited mission ZIP.

This checks XML and ZIP handling. Test spawning and gameplay on your server before applying an edit to its live world.

Your own mission

Apply reviewed files to a test copy first.

There is no connection between this editor and your server. Before transferring changes to a real mission, back up its files and verify the ZIP's paths.

With the test server stopped, match exported relative paths to the active mission folder and replace the files you have reviewed. Restart the test server, inspect its logs and check the result in game before making the same change to the live mission.

On VXPanel, follow Files and SFTP for archive handling and transfers. Check backup configuration before you rely on a saved copy, and consult the DayZ PvE setup guide for loot and population choices.

Before you edit

DayZ editor questions.

Which DayZ XML files can this editor change?

The browser edition edits supported values in db/types.xml, db/events.xml, zombie territory and animal territory files when present. Item-by-item editing is not available.

Are mission files uploaded or stored?

No. The tab reads your ZIP without uploading it or changing the original. Close the tab to clear its working copy.

Does the tool overwrite the original ZIP?

No. The editor keeps your original ZIP unchanged and downloads edited files with VYKIX-CHANGES.json. Keep your original mission because this download includes only the changes, not the complete mission.

Does this run DayZ admin commands or connect to Nitrado?

No. The editor cannot kick, ban or teleport players, open a live admin console or connect to a hosting panel. If your provider supports mission-file exports, review the edited download and upload it through that provider's file manager.

Can I edit individual items or import types.xml on its own?

The input is a mission ZIP for editing groups of economy values. Individual item editing, standalone types.xml imports and SFTP connections are unsupported. The editor preserves serverDZ.cfg unchanged. It reads supported XML, JSON, CFG and init.c files while skipping persistence data, map binaries and unrelated assets.

How do I use the edited files on my server?

Before using the downloaded files, stop the DayZ server and back up its live mission. Review the changed files and paths, apply them to a test copy first, and follow the transfer checks in the walkthrough above.
