VxShield game DDoS protection

See how VxShield filters DDoS attacks.

Simulate a 1.6 Tbps attack through VxShield's two filtering layers: GSL upstream mitigation and VYKIX-side filtering. Compare upstream protection alone with both layers active.

VxShield is included with managed hosting, Game VPS, and bare metal.

In this example, VxShield's GSL upstream layer filters 1.44 Tbps and its VYKIX-side layer rejects the remaining 160 Gbps. Compare both layers with upstream protection alone.

Protection for game servers

DDoS attacks target your connection and your game.

VxShield checks DayZ, Rust and Arma traffic alongside network filtering. These checks address game-protocol attacks as well as floods that can overwhelm a server connection.

  1. 01

    Filter attack volume

VxShield uses GSL for upstream mitigation and adds filtering on VYKIX's network before traffic reaches the game server.

  2. 02

    Check game traffic

Layer 7 profiles check incoming packets against the DayZ, Rust and Arma protocols.

  3. 03

    Let accepted connections through

Only traffic accepted by the active rules proceeds to the server. VYKIX manages those rules for managed hosting; VPS and bare-metal customers maintain their own.

Before you order

Questions about VxShield protection.

Review VxShield's game coverage, the protection included with hosting and the limits of this demo.

What does the VxShield live demo show?

The simulation shows two filtering layers within VxShield: GSL upstream mitigation and additional filtering on VYKIX's network. Compare both layers with upstream protection alone. The traffic split and player counts are examples, not measured results.

Does VxShield provide Layer 7 DDoS protection, and which games does it cover?

DayZ, Rust and Arma traffic can pass through VxShield's upstream network filtering and game-aware Layer 7 validation. The network layer handles attack volume, while game-specific protocol filters decide which connections to forward. Configure ports and rules for the game and service type. VYKIX handles these rules for managed hosting; VPS and dedicated-server customers maintain their own VxShield configuration.

What does the 17 Tbps figure describe?

17 Tbps describes filtering capacity across the whole protection network. It is not an allocation to an individual server. The attack traffic, its route and active mitigation rules determine how filtering works during an incident.

Does this demo use traffic from a real customer server?

The traffic and player counts are examples used for the demo. The Ground Zero and StalkerZ reports linked here document real attack incidents.
