Named DayZ communities with busy servers

The June snapshot contains one Escape From DayZ listing, one KarmaKrew listing, five Rearmed listings and two Sunnyvale listings. These are nine servers across four communities.

VYKIX supplied the capture and confirmed June as its capture month. The exact date and saved filter settings are unavailable. BattleMetrics calculates rank from player activity over the preceding seven days, so the positions describe server popularity at the time.

The snapshot covers both bare metal and managed DayZ hosting. You can’t tell which plan each listing uses or how many players a managed DayZ plan will handle from this image. Use the decision guide below to choose a service and test your workload.

DayZ-aware protection with documented incidents

VxShield is included with your managed DayZ server. It combines Global Secure Layer (GSL) upstream flood mitigation with additional filtering on VYKIX’s network. We check game packets and sessions, and answer supported A2S_INFO server-browser requests from cached status at the Anycast edge.

Some reports retain original traffic captures; the Rearmed retrospective does not retain its original traffic export or game logs. Network peaks measure the flood reaching the mitigation layer. Increasing the configured player cap adds no player-slot fee. The load your server can run still depends on the map, mods and player activity. Resource allowances follow the plan’s fair-use terms.

Choose the hosting type for your workload

Start with the control you need and the software you can maintain:

• Managed DayZ hosting: choose this for a DayZ game server with game-file and configuration access. VYKIX maintains the host OS; you manage your mission, mods and player rules. Review the managed plan.
• Game VPS: choose this when you need root access and will maintain the operating system and game software. See Game VPS options.

The managed game-server price does not buy a whole machine. A community’s ranking or player cap cannot tell you which of these services fits your workload.

Test your busiest DayZ session

Use the workload you plan to host when assessing a configuration:

1. Record your DayZ version, map, mission settings and complete mod list.
2. Test with the player activity and peak population you expect, including busy areas and persistent bases.
3. Capture server FPS, CPU and memory use, player count and timestamps from the same session. Keep client-rendered FPS separate from server simulation performance.
4. Change one setting at a time and repeat the same workload before increasing the player cap.
