Hytale Dedicated Server: Software, Hardware and Hosting Choices

“Dedicated server” can mean the Hytale software that runs your world or a physical machine rented for your exclusive use. You don’t have to rent the whole machine to run the software.

Start with the jobs you want to take on. Managed hosting lets you look after the game. A VPS gives you a virtual machine to administer, while bare metal puts you in charge of the full physical server in your order.

Separate the game process from the physical host

Choose root access if you need to install or control services on the host. Then size the hardware for the game itself. Tell the provider about your world, mods and player activity, and test that workload on the proposed allocation. A start with an empty world won’t exercise a busy server.

Authentication belongs to the server setup

Follow the Hytale Server Manual for installation and login. Our downloader setup asks you to authorize the files and then authenticate the game server. The publisher’s bootstrap route can pass credentials through to the installed server, and a provider may handle authentication before you receive access.

For a personal device login, use the Hytale account that owns your game licence. Run /auth status in the console. If login is needed, use /auth login device and approve the active request before it expires.

Use /auth persistence to check how credentials are stored. The Encrypted option can keep them after the process stops; memory-only storage loses them. If stored credentials stop working, check for revocation or a failed refresh request. See the Server Provider Authentication Guide.

Providers can also use supported non-interactive login methods. Use the method your installation supports and follow the status in its console.

Managed game hosting

We maintain the host OS. You use VXPanel to reach the console and game files, configure mods and check that updates and backups work.

Paid Hytale hosting includes three same-server backup slots and VxShield protection. You can transfer files through the file manager or SFTP, as shown in the setup guide. Test the mods you want to run together. Review the current managed order.

Game VPS

A VPS gives you root access within its virtual allocation. You’ll install the runtime, patch the OS and maintain the game and protection rules, so allow time for those jobs alongside the monthly cost.

Read the resource and network terms in the Game VPS listing. You’re buying a virtual allocation rather than the entire physical host. Test your world and players on it instead of treating the vCore count as a player limit.

Bare metal

A full machine may fit a workload that needs control of the whole host, or several services you want to run together. Plan how you’ll install them, update them and recover their data.

Compare CPU, memory, disks, OS options, network allocation and setup fees for the location you need. Browse the bare-metal server locations and check the selected build’s availability in the portal.

Verify networking and recovery

Hytale uses QUIC over UDP. If you manage the network rules, make sure the assigned endpoint matches across the router, OS firewall and upstream protection. The publisher manual and VxShield guide cover their respective settings.

Back up the world, configuration and required mod data outside the server. A storage failure can destroy the running world and a same-server backup together. Try a restore before your group relies on it.

Check the order before moving a world

Review the billing term and total, including taxes and unavoidable fees, in the portal before paying. Hytale requires a paid order. DayZ and Rust trial availability is shown on their hosting pages.
