The author recommends the stable build for public servers. Experimental builds contain unfinished changes, so choose your release before preparing the world.

Matching player content
Install the required Workshop items and have players load the same map release. Keep the author's map package intact and edit the permitted server files.

  1. Find a mod by name or Workshop ID, then review its publisher's Workshop page.
  2. Follow the author's instructions to choose Install or Server-side.

How much does Deer Isle server hosting cost?

Do I need both the Workshop map and mission files?

Yes. Install the author's Deer Isle Workshop release with its required items and matching server mission files. Terrain and mission files do different jobs. Keep their versions aligned and test spawns and loot before admitting players.

Can I repack Deer Isle into my server's mod?

Read the current Deer Isle licence before changing or distributing map content. It restricts editing PBO content, repacking and reuploading. Leave the author's map package intact and work within the permitted server and mission configuration.

Can I move my Chernarus community to Deer Isle?

Yes. Save a backup of Chernarus before configuring Deer Isle's own mission and economy. Check what your mods can transfer before planning to retain characters, bases or vehicles from the old map.

Is there a fixed player limit for Deer Isle?

Test your intended map, mods and player activity to decide on a limit. AI, custom objects and large gatherings add workload. The DayZ PC plan charges no added player-slot fee, and resource allowances are subject to fair use.
