Prepare your Frostline server on Sakhal.

Sakhal uses the standard DayZ PC plan, with its mission configured in VXPanel. Everyone joining the winter survival server must own DayZ and Frostline.

Each player needs DayZ and the Frostline expansion. Hosting provides the server; players' game licences are separate.
The Sakhal mission
Set the mission Template to dayzOffline.sakhal in VXPanel. Its folder belongs under mpmissions and must match your server release. Save your previous world's files before switching terrains.
Loot and winter survival
Edit loot in dayzOffline.sakhal/db/types.xml. Our free economy editor can preview a multiplier change from a mission ZIP; check its exported files on a test copy before opening the winter world to players.

Build your mod list.

Choose mods for your community and arrange the order in which they load.

  1. Find a mod by name or Workshop ID, then review its publisher's Workshop page.
  2. Follow the author's instructions to choose Install or Server-side.
  3. Before a maintenance restart, review Installed mods and their load order.

Plan your next restart.

Choose a timezone and time, check the resulting schedule, then save it.

  1. Set a restart frequency or supply your own custom expression.
  2. For a custom expression, confirm its timezone and previewed run times.
  3. Check the restart policy before creating the schedule, then verify it in the saved list.

Use File Manager to browse the server directory and upload your configuration.

  1. Navigate to the directory using the folder rows and path controls.
  2. Upload your configuration, or edit an existing supported text file.
  3. Retain the previous configuration and verify your saved edit.

Sakhal DayZ hosting questions

Does Sakhal need a separate hosting package?

Sakhal is supported on VYKIX's managed DayZ PC plan. Select a city and billing term for the order. Your order total, including applicable taxes and fees, is shown before payment. Hosting is separate from players' DayZ and Frostline licences.

Do all players need Frostline to join?

Yes. Trial and paid hosting both require each player to own the base DayZ game and Frostline on PC.

Can I try Sakhal during the free hosting trial?

Check DayZ trial availability in the portal. When trials are available, Sakhal still requires players to own Frostline. A valid card is required for the 48-hour trial, with no charge and no automatic paid subscription. Trial and paid hardware can differ. Export required files before expiry; active data is deleted seven calendar days after suspension.

Can I add mods or make Sakhal private?

Install compatible mods with VXPanel's Workshop and file controls and restrict entry with a join password or whitelist. Check each mod's dependencies and test with your players' client files. Frostline ownership is still required on a private Sakhal server.

What hardware and player capacity do I get?

Paid DayZ PC hosting uses an overclocked i9-14900K. Memory and storage are subject to fair use. Measure your Sakhal mission, mods and expected player activity before setting a capacity target.
